GARY MOORE To Release New Album In May

February 26, 2004

Legendary guitarist Gary Moore is scheduled to release a new studio album in late May through Sanctuary Records. The as-yet-untitled 10-track set will feature some blues standards, together with plenty of blues rock originals, which have been recorded over the past three months. The complete track listing is still undecided at this time, but hopefully will be finalized in the next week or so. Joining Gary on the album is regular drummer Darrin Mooney and an ex-band member, Bob Daisley (ex-OZZY OSBOURNE) on bass, who was last heard on the "Still Got the Blues" CD in 1990.

In other news, BBC Radio 2 will be airing the program "Breaking the Barricades - The Story of Ulster Rock" on Saturday, February 28at 9:00 p.m. GMT. In the show Gary can be heard talking about his early playing days in Ireland and the various bands he was associated with during that time. The show is presented by former UNDERTONES frontman, Fergal Sharkey, who provides an insight into the rock and roll side of music from Northern Ireland. The show can be heard over the Internet at this location.

Also on the Moore-related front, the May edition of Guitar Player magazine will feature an article on the U.S. release of the "Monsters of Rock" live CD and DVD (featuring Moore),along with an interview with Gary.
